How is it already 8.5 months into 2021? It feels like only yesterday that we all got the message to go home, and stay there. As things are ‘slowly’ getting back to normal, you need something to narrate all this change, right?
If yes, I have the perfect thing for you. If not, well then I’d recommend you still listen up!
CALM are a five piece indie outfit from London, and keeping it cool and DIY, these tracks were actually recorded, and produced, in Adam’s bedroom. Released in the summer of 2020, and inspired by the pandemic, this A-Track and B-Side are wonderfully written, paired with a beat that gets your feet tapping.
CALM say: “The A-track reflects on feelings of isolation and being cut off from the outside world during the last three months, wondering who and what will be left once things return to some sense of normality. The song is also a message of hope, questioning whether we will make positive changes to the way we live our lives as a result of this unprecedented event. Following up is the B-side ‘Something’s Changing’, which touches more on how life has and will have changed for better or for worse, during and post-pandemic.”
The past year or so has been super strange for everyone, and will definitely be one for the history books, so if a young one (gosh, that made me realise I’m no longer one of the ‘young ones’) comes to me, I can just whip out these tracks to describe it all perfectly.
Last, but by no means least, here’s something super cool! Their single ‘Sucker’ featured on Netflix show ‘Terrace House’ *Adds to my Watch List*.
