MK (Mike Kremastoules) – Butterfly

Well hello there!

We’ve now moved into 2022, and I couldn’t think of a better track to review as the first one of the year.

If you like melodic rock instrumentals, then this is just the thing for you. If you don’t? Ach, you’ll still like it. Trust me!

Leeds born MK is a seasoned (self-taught!) musician, particularly renowned for his tenure as the lead guitarist with early 80’s NWOBHM outfit ‘Ded Ringer’ (Neat Records). Butterfly is his solo debut single, which will feature on his upcoming solo album Calling.

“Hurry up, and tell us about the single!” I hear you cry.
Alright, seeing as you all asked so nicely! Are you all sitting comfortably? Once upon a time…

Butterfly is a wonderful track and if you’ve read my previous posts, you’ll know I’m a sucker for an instrumental. You can hear MK’s influences of classic rock and progressive rock, combined with a real passion. His mastery of the guitar is fantastic and powerful. It’s definitely something I can imagine being played on the main stage at a festival. Think late at night, your light of choice, with your friends around you, just swaying to the music and being in awe. I can’t wait to hear the full album, so I can fully appreciate his musical wizardry.

It gets even better! Not only is there this awesome track I’ve been raving about, but there’s an accompanying video featuring a contemporary dance performance from Leah Evans. (I mean, we have the same first name, so I already love her).
