So, this year’s Captainskydiver Advent Calendar has drawn to a close! What better way to end it, than with an entire EP review – A Carrying Stream by Blair Coron.
Blair has featured many times on the Captainskydiver blog, the last time was on the release of his album Cairn, which we absolutely loved so when we saw that he had a new EP we knew we had to review it.
Instrumental music is something I absolutely love. There are no lyrics telling you how to feel; the interpretation is up to you – the listener. A Carrying Stream is the perfect name for this beautiful collection of songs, listening to it makes you feel like you are being carried down a quiet stream, somewhere in the Scottish Highlands. Nothing but you and nature, feeling at ease and peaceful. Blair certainly knows how to invoke a feeling of calmness and beauty, with each track making you feel as if you can just close your eyes, and get swept away in the beauty of it all.
When you listen to this EP, my advice is to make sure you’re all cozy, grab your headphones, and close your eyes. Really take in every note, every sound, really feel the music, as A Carrying Stream is a truly mesmerising masterpiece by a wonderful musician.
